A Private View of "A Larger Reality"

  • Oregon Contemporary 8371 North Interstate Avenue Portland, OR, 97217 United States (map)

Our January Contemporaries gathering takes us to Oregon Contemporary for a guided look at A Larger Reality: Ursula K. Le Guin. This exhibition provides an expansive perspective on the life and work of one of Oregon’s most significant cultural figures.

The exhibition moves beyond a traditional retrospective, blending biographical materials and ephemera with contemporary installations and visual art. Members will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of media, including murals by Ursula Barton and video work by Arwen Curry, while Theo Le Guin offers insight into the themes of community engagement and creative inquiry that define his mother’s legacy. Whether you are well-versed in Le Guin’s work or discovering it for the first time, this evening offers a sophisticated environment to connect with Portland’s art community and explore the intersection of literature and visual culture.
