Ido Radon
Ido Radon is a Portland artist and writer whose work uses modular construction and prototyping to examine how technology and engineering organize daily life. Her Triennial project at the Center for Contemporary Art at PNCA, Men make their own history…, is an evolving installation of sculptural forms abstracted from the games of chess and Chutes and Ladders. Constructed from vintage Erector sets, these re-composable structures treat the games’ opposing logics of strategy and chance as a way to consider the possibility of free will. An accompanying project, ALICE, takes the form of a file server proposing flows of information after the end of the internet: a library for a future art school.
