Marcus Fischer
Marcus Fischer (Portland) creates, collects, and transforms sound into immersive, layered compositions that accompany performances and exhibitions, often using tape loops. For the 2026 C45 Triennial, he will debut a new version of his sound installation/performance, Para Maalala (“to remember”), in a rock garden at PCC Sylvania. The work connects two columns via tape recorders, playing his grandfather’s stories from the Philippines. By integrating equipment from PCC’s endangered music program, Fischer explores collective dreaming and the power of sound to connect people across distances.
