About the Project

Trisha Baga (New York) is a leading figure in video installation known for poetic, "digital-physical" environments that mirror the complex chaos of the internet age. For the 2026 C45 Triennial, Baga presents MORE, a monumental immersive installation at PICA that weaves together the rise of consumer AI and the artist’s own journey into parenthood. Utilizing 3D video and sculptural scenography, Baga explores the ways technological systems mirror and distort human desire. By focusing on "more"—a foundational word in a child’s vocabulary—the work juxtaposes the extractive logic of tech development with the primal, innocent impulse to nurture something that never stops asking.

Artist Bio

Born in Venice, Florida (1985), Baga is a Filipino-American artist whose expansive practice spans stereoscopic 3D video installation, paint, clay, consumer-grade electronics, and community performance. Compelled by an interest in what they call “the stuff that makes things stick together,” Baga recombines disparate objects and images into scenarios that address issues related to the environment, technology, and identity. For them, working across a fluid variety of media serves as an optimistic metaphor for the power of translation and connection as they strive to unearth emotional histories and critically engage with contemporary image culture.

Baga lives and works in Queens, New York, and is represented by Société (Berlin) and Gio Marconi Gallery (Milan). They have been the subject of numerous solo institutional exhibitions worldwide, including presentations at the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), Pirelli HangarBicocca (Milan), Fridericianum (Kassel, Germany), and Kunstverein München (Munich). Their work is held in prestigious permanent collections internationally, including the Walker Art Center, the Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst am Museum Ludwig Köln, the Whitney Museum, Kunstpalast (Dusseldorf), and the Moderna Museet (Stockholm).
