About the Project

Vo Vo (Portland) is a multidisciplinary artist and educator focused on radical pedagogy, trauma-informed care, and anarchist community building. Their practice spans textiles, print, and social engagement to foster local activism. For C45, they will debut Street Meetz, a "vox populi" video project at PSU’s Schnitzer School of Art and on Open Signal Community Access Network, featuring interviews with diverse people in public settings like parks and malls about vulnerability and their life’s best moments. This work responds to the theme of impermanence by highlighting how brief, meaningful exchanges with strangers can create a temporary community.

Artist Bio

Vo Vo is an anarchist, Autistic artist working in post-trauma community spaces utilizing speculative research, harm reduction, and social scaffolding. Their interdisciplinary media fluidly straddles visual art, structural installation (including woodworking and weaving), performance, and film.

Embedded within the Pacific Northwest art ecosystem, their practice focuses on building frameworks that support communal healing, resilience, and accessible visual cultures. In recognition of their significant contributions to the region's contemporary landscape, Vo Vo was named a prestigious 2025 Hallie Ford Fellow in the Visual Arts by The Ford Family Foundation.
