Created by artist Lynn Yarne, Photos of Your Aunties Smiling as a Monument to Resistance brings together dance and found photos from two historical communities centered in the former PDX Japantown and Portland's second-largest Chinatown. The project prompts us to consider what conditions foster deep community connection—asking what is gained through proximity, shared experience, and joy, and what is lost when communities are separated.

Come ready to move, reflect, and celebrate.
